Law Enforcement

The CCSO presence in your community is, by itself, is a major deterrent to crime. Frequent patrols, whether it be road patrols, navigational patrols or snowmobile patrols conducting routine building checks or specialized programs like STOP-DWI, provide a visible and meaningful sense of well-being in the county, and make would-be offenders think twice before breaking the law. When a crime does take place, the extensive training given to employees allow the full weight of the law to be brought upon the offenders.

Communications

All emergency communications in the county are dispatched or monitored from the CCSO E-911 center. The Communications Center is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by Public Safety Dispatchers to insure that calls for assistance are answered, and help is dispatched in a prompt, courteous, and efficient manner. Fire, police and ambulance calls, along with routine message traffic, are handled on a constant basis. Dispatchers are also cross trained as Emergency Medical Dispatchers. During natural disasters the E-911 Center can act as a Command Post for personnel to manage needed resources.
